After the cultural desert that was much of 2020 we are delighted to have a great programme of music at St Chad’s for the rest of this year. Following on from a very successful concert from the Pohutukawa Singers lin July 2021 we have several dates for your diaries in the coming months.
15th August 3.30pm Kumeu Blend Music to warm a winter’s afternoon. Waitakere Ladies Choir and Songbirds join our local Kumeu Blend to bring you an entertaining and diverse programme of choral delights.
5th September 5.00pm Cantorum Chamber Choir are returning to St Chad’s to sing Choral Evensong. This service is based on the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and will include a setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis by Stanford. Cantorum sang evensong for us last year and we are delighted to have them back.
7th November 4.00pm Gaudemus an Auckland based quartet with a difference! Gaudemus ( translation: “we rejoice”) is a chamber group of two singers, cellist and pianist. The ensemble performs music of all eras and styles. Programmes feature music from the glories of the Renaissance through romantic 19th-century pieces to music from composers of today. Singers, cellist and pianist combine to show that their music gives them joy, which they then transmit to their audiences. This will be a fund raiser for a New Zealand based charity.
5th December 4.00pm Pohutukawa Singers return to St Chad’s for their Christmas Concert. Their programme is still being decided but will include Christmas carols and an opportunity for the audience to join in! We are hoping that the Junior Choir from Sacred Heart College may make a return visit for this event.
