This St Francis Day, paws, claws, feathers—and favourite cuddly companions—are all welcome on Sunday 4 October 2026, 10am, St Chad’s Church, Huapai.
In 2026 we mark 800 years since the death of St Francis of Assisi, whose feast is celebrated on 4 October. Stories of his kinship with birds, animals and the whole created world have inspired generations to cherish every living thing.
Join us for a warm, family-friendly service celebrating the animals who share our homes and enrich our lives. Bring your pet to receive a blessing—or, if travelling would be difficult or stressful, bring a photograph. Children are especially welcome to bring a treasured stuffed toy for blessing too.
Come as you are, bring the creatures you love, and celebrate the goodness of creation together.
